In terms of software, the Yureka Plus comes out of the box with Cyanogen OS 12, based on Android 5.0. You get an octa core Snapdragon 615 processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB storage and a 2,500mAh battery. Viewing angles are good, brightness level is excellent and there is a handy built-in color calibration tool to adjust screen colours according to preference. When compared side-toside, thanks to the higher resolution, the full HD display looks sharper: icon outlines appeared more distinct and images look more detailed. Technical specifications aside, in real world usage most users will not be able to tell the difference between a HD and full HD display. Yureka Plus comes with a 5.5-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The display is where the major change has been made.
One change is that the Yureka Plus also comes in white. If you keep both phones side by side, you won't be able to tell the difference between the standard and the Plus.
YU has taken the safe route by going with the same look and design as of the Yureka. However, with the competition raising the bar ( Lenovo launched the K3 Note phablet with a full HD display), YU has also upped the ante by launching an upgraded version of the Yureka with a full HD display -and it's called the Yureka Plus. At that time, a full HD display in the sub Rs 10,000 price segment was unheard of and therefore we didn't complain.
